Grief is father of invention: baby car seat

Some inventions are born out of hard work and analytical thinking. Others strike like a bolt of lightning. Janusz Liberkowski's most recent invention came from love -- and grief.
His daughter, Annette Liberkowski, died in a car accident seven years ago.
``Losing your child is the worst pain in the world,'' said Liberkowski, 53, of Los Gatos. ``We felt helpless, like there was nothing we could do.''
That pain fueled a baby car seat that was voted Thursday the best invention on ABC's ``American Inventor'' television program. But Annette wasn't a baby; she was 21 and riding in a car on Highway 101 when it crashed into oncoming traffic. -----
